MIKE MITCHELL . MORE THAN A HITMAN !?? OR IS A HITMAN ENOUGH ??

this guy can hit , this guy can fire up his team , this guy was drafted way higher than anyone expected ?? of course , were talking al davis here !! he couldnt stay healthy but has spent the whole offseason working on improvement . can this guy be the hawk that breaks wrs off on a weekly basis. can this guy help stop the run and sneak up on qbs and yell BOO !?? mitchell is part of what i like too call oaklands reach for draft picks ! until this recent draft ofcourse . many had him going in the 7th or signed undrafted , however he has skils so even a 5th round would have made sence . you know me loyal oakland too the end , so with that in mind i hope davis saw something special . me i sure like the way this guy can hit !!! if you havnt seen this guy check him out out youtube !! whats your thoughts ?

  1. Yes, you are right the man can hit. I would say he is an average defender so maybe he will be improved if he has been working hard this offseason. one thing i know is that he said he was battling hamstring issues last year for a good part of the season and no one got so see the player that he really is. it will be interesting to see the competition at safety during camp and preseason.

  3. We've had a lot of experience with guys like this in KC. Jarrad Page, Bernard Pollard, Jerome Woods, etc. They're fun to watch, but you have to have a good ball hawk/cover guy to play the other safety spot. The days of FS/SS seem to be coming to an end. Now it's more of a LS/RS type deal with the emergence of Cover-2 in so many defensive schemes. I like Mitchell, but if he doesn't improve his ball skills, I don't think he will be reliable enough as a defender.

  4. I dont really see him that good at coverage and I dont think he has that closing speed. He can hit though, but there's plenty of college players that look good on highlight film. He was a reach though maybe that's why my comment sounds a little pessimistic but I do somewhat hope he does okay just so kiper jr. can shut up lol. And CitChief, Bernard Pollard is starting to look like a good defender for the texans.
