BUSH SHOULD BE THE LEAD BACK IN OAKLAND .
HAVING READ ALL I CAN STAND ON THE BUSH MCFADDEN SITUATION IN OAKLAND HERE MY TRUTH ! mcfadd hasnt been able to stay healthy , he is a first round pick getting top five money . mcfadd is a versital speedster who raider fans hope and want to put up r. bush like numbers ( not r. bush numbers we thought he could do but what he put out last year ). next , m. bush powerful smashmouth back with good speed and hands , to note bush suffered injury witch allowed oakland to score with a mid round pick . if you remember this guy was a dominate player in collge until his injury ! now some say give mc fadd the start hes the big dollar first rounder . the way i figure for oakland it doesnt matter who starts unless you are going up aginst a team thats d- is weak in the middle than start bush . my point is oakland has the two back tandem most teams in the nfl want or are tring to build , so bush 20-30 carries a game and most of the in close goalline carries . with that i see bush breaking out with 1000+ yards and 8+ tds . mcfadd 15+ touches agame . with i expect to translate 800+ yds and 8+ tds . too some this is speculation even wishful thinking . thats my take ! what do you think !

Sounds good. I've always like the idea that teams appoint one guy as the premier RB. I know Running back by committee is the norm now days but, I really think the raiders have talent in the back field and If you make just one of those guys "The Man" then I think it benefits the team. Myself I personally think McFadden is the guy that should get the lead role. Bush IMHO is not as a complete player. Either way Both guys can produce.
ReplyDeleteMichael Bush is a stud. Plain and simple. Raider fans are being teased. They've only seen glimpses of what he can do. Give him a full season and I bet the rewards would be sweet. But it comes down to Big Al and Cable... Will Big Al be willing to have a former first rounder (McFadden) play backup to a mid-round draft pick? Or will Al's ego sabotage another "golden" opportunity for the Raiders? Another question: Is Cable gutsy enough to make his own decisions (against his boss's desires) and make Bush the #1 back or will he continue the status quo and allow Al to make all the personnel decisions unchecked?
ReplyDeletesome will say cable stood up too al by benching jruss and in turn showed big al with a game manager oakland has offence ! so if im cable and thats true im keeping my man sak on the table and starting bush ! however as i stated , as long as the raider backs get the numbers i laid out the sucess i stated i believe will happen . but i also agree that in order for this too work a starter must be named !
ReplyDeleteSorry guys. I got my guys mixed up. I meant to say Bush is the more complete player. I didn't realize the typo until this morning. Anyways ...Ya. JEDUNK. What I think happened is AL trust Cable. AL has always had a problem with turning over trust to anyone. For once in the history of the Raiders I think AL made a decision based on cable and a few others. Very rare for him. We all know that AL by himself would have stuck with Russel for maybe 2 more years. and this draft was totally out of character for AL. Maybe AL realizes that he is getting old and that he needs some help and input from the people he hired to be "On his side".
ReplyDeleteChiefwes... I highly doubt AL thinks he needs help from anyone. The guy has a large ego (not baggin' just sayin' what everyone in the league already knows). Perhaps he has hedged himself with some good advisers who "support his decisions". BTW, did you hear what he had to say about George Steinbrenner? Direct Quote from AL: "I judge sports figures based on individual achievement, team achievement and contributions to the game. George was right up there with me at No. 1 -- bright, aggressive and, most of all, not afraid."
ReplyDeletedino that has always been the al davis we know ! however it sure does look like he is giving some of the reins over to cable . no matter i say cable needs to go with the sak on the table theory and keep the weels greesed now ! dino the thing cheif brought up was our draft smelled of organized plot rather than shot guns and uzis ! my point is that something has shifted in the big office in oaktown , and no matter what i like whats going on and im glad als doing what ever hes doing ! as far as owners getting involved pre 2002 his record is very good however i think hes geeting old and maybe now he is realizing the fact !
ReplyDeleteI've always been wary of guys like McFadden starting. These guys that everyone talks about how dangerous they are in the open-field. The problem is, a RB isn't going to get into the open-field without doing a little banging first. You have to be able to withstand contact to truly be effective in the NFL. I do like Michael Bush. He's my kind of RB. Someone that takes the rock and initiates contact. He dares defenders to tackle him. That's what a truly successful back needs to do. If McFadden wants to save his career, he needs to learn how to attack the line and get aggressive.
ReplyDeleteI think that McFadden has outstanding play making abilities but Bush seems to be much more of a consistent back and he's a banger between the tackles. It makes more sense for him to start in the raiders style offense and for McFadden to be the spell/passing down back but they both have their upside and if McFadden blows up this year like everyone thought he would back when he was drafted then they will still make for an outstanding backfield. If he doesn't then gladly we got a steal with Bush and McFadden will fill more of a Darren Sproles or Reggie Bush type role.
ReplyDelete@citadelchief - Very good point. The bruiser backs who can barrel through the defense are the ones that wear the defense down. Throwing Michael Bush at teams early will pave the way for McFadden later. I don't question the Raiders have a decent running back tandem. It's a question of Cable using his players effectively.
ReplyDelete-
@autumnwind - See my last statement above. Cable needs to be smart and understand what he has in his backfield. Pound Bush then once the defense is tired, make them try to chase down McFadden. If DMac can work on his hands a little more he will be a force out in the flat or on screens late in games.
hey off topic but how do u post a new blog on here?
ReplyDeletenvm im an idiot haha i figured it out
ReplyDeletebleed i went thru the same thing !lol! dino , thats what im sayng ! we stick to this recipe and campbellis going to kill them with play action ! dino that line espn had me rolling ! i couldnt help but taking my shot at it !
ReplyDeletecitidel and autumnwind thats the way it should be , i never understood why guys like r. bush and mcfadd are drafted so high . i know there are guys like l.t. and pocket hercules but to me they are the exception not rule . bush i beleive one way or anouther will end up the starting back in oakland !
ReplyDeleteJedunk3 - Dude, I love your passion. You represent your team well. So far, everyone on this new blog is the class of fans I want to be associated with... even if we root for different teams! But football strategy shouldn't be overcomplicated. The most simple approaches tend to be the best. When the Chargers are playing their best it is usually when they aren't trying to be too cute. The defense knows what's coming yet they still can't stop it. That's when you know, as a team, you are executing the way you should.
ReplyDeletei agee ! the only time ive rooted for a complex team was grudens led by the gannon ! however even those kind of offences dont have to be overcomplicated . but you got me pegged , if you can run the ball the passing game opens up naturaly and dino i will tell you this also if this rookie rb the bolts have can just muster 4.0 per carry and your d holds its own than that trophy may finaly be yours !
ReplyDeleteKC made it work under Vermeil. The TE was our go-to receiver. We ran screens like they had a shelf-life. Our wideouts were a minimal portion of the gameplan. But hey, it got us 13-3, even with that garbage defense we had.
ReplyDeletetrent was great leader , i was disapointed he never earned a ring! like you said brother DEFENCE! but have a little patience, i beleive kc is bent on not making that mistake this time around !
