Good defense for sure. Campbell looked a little tentative and indecisive but still way better than Jruss haha. Good looks on the deep throws too, just needs a little work and timing. Houston was flying man.
ReplyDeleteive nik named houston the nasty on account of the way he plays and practices ! lamar is going to be the guy who just doesnt want too hit you but he wants you too remenber he hit you ! as far as our line alot of poeple critisize , however we have a very good balance of vets and youngster . velheer and campbell(ash) are going to turn out and all off a sudden the haters will have too critisize easlsewhere !i rarely pat my own back but after seeing espns line on oakland after the game they should have just called it " EVEN THOUGH OAKLAND LOOKED GOOD WERE GOING TOO SHOW YOU ONE INCOMPLETION !" DUNKS NO ESPN JOCKEY , BUT HE REPRISENTS THE FACTS !!
ReplyDeleteThe o-line still looks shaky, and it's worth noting that the 1st team didn't score. There's obvious progress from where they were with JRuss, but there needs to be more improvement and a lot more continuity. A 4th qtr comeback doesn't mean much in preseason.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm going to keep some reservations about the defense. I watched the Cowboys opener against Cincy and it was a pretty similar story. The Boys have some serious problems on that o-line.
All-in-all, not a terrible showing. Definitely provided some reasons for the Oakland faithful to be optimistic about improving.
First preseason games are never an accurate barometer for any team. Everything is played pretty much vanilla. Game 3 is usually when you can get a better sense for the team because the starters will play either an entire half or even into the third quarter. Coaches will chose to mix up the play calling and use that third game as a true dress rehearsal for the regular season. So for now, I would caution against any over-excitement and wait till game 3 to really take things seriously.
